Learning Through Play

The children in the Toddler Program at our childcare centers in Bainbridge and Mentor, Ohio range in age from approximately 18 to 36 months, split into 5 developmentally appropriate groups. The children will be working on enhancing their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills through both structured and unstructured play and group activities. Each toddler class goes outside twice a day, weather permitting, to our specially designed toddler playground. There they can climb and slide on our play set, ride tricycles, play in the sand, run, relax, and enjoy the fresh air. Children explore music, games, puzzles, computer time, toys, and playing either with friends or on their own.

The Benefits

  • Improving social skills as they learn with friends

  • Learning to share supplies and toys with friends

  • Healthier and more coordinated bodies as they exercise themselves

  • Higher self-confidence as toddlers make their own choices

Education Based Group Time

Toddlers at our child care centers in Bainbridge and Mentor, Ohio are given opportunities to participate in group activities throughout the day, ranging from play-dough time, music and movement, art projects, and more. While all toddlers are encouraged to join in the activities they are free to decline and relax with a book or play with classroom toys instead. Our experienced Toddler teachers provide the introduction of circle time in which children have the opportunity to learn in a group setting.
