So who are the people behind Small Hands Big Dreams and Color Our Rainbow Academy? We are Jennifer & Brian Sprafka, and are very excited to be operating our childcare centers. Jennifer’s experience in childcare and child development began in 1992, and Brian specializes in business management. A few years ago, we decided to put both of our backgrounds together to take a shot at running our own business.
The original Color Our Rainbow Academy was started by the previous owner in 1981 and we purchased it in 2001. After learning the business, we decided to expand by purchasing another existing childcare center. The other Color Our Rainbow Academy in Mentor was originally founded in 1993 as The Kiddie Academy by the previous owner and was purchased by us in 2002. Next, we completed construction on the new Small Hands Big Dreams Learning Center in Bainbridge in 2003, and expanded the center in both 2006 and 2007.
